Projections of points in Engineering Drawing

 Q.01 Mark the projections of the following points on a common reference line, keeping the projectors 25 mm apart.

  1. A, 25 mm above HP and 35 mm in front of VP.
  2. B, 25 mm above HP and 40 mm behind VP.
  3. C, 30 mm below HP and 45 mm behind VP.
  4. D, 30 mm below HP and 40 mm infront of VP.
  5. E, 25 mm above HP and in VP.
  6. F, 35 mm below HP and in VP
  7. G, 25 mm in front of VP and in HP.
  8. H, 20 mm behind VP and in HP.






Q.02 Draw the projections of the following points on a common reference line keeping the distance between their projectors 30 mm apart.
  1. Point A is 20 mm below the HP and 50 mm in front of the VP.
  2. Point B is in the HP and 40 mm behind the VP.
  3. Point C is 30 mm in front of the VP and in the HP.
  4. Point D is 50 mm above the HP and 30 mm behind the VP.
  5. Point E is 20 mm below the HP and 50 mm behind the VP.
  6. Point F is in the  VP and 50 mm below the HP.




Q.03 Draw the projections of the following points on the same ground line, keeping the projections 25 mm apart.
  1. In the HP and 20 mm behind VP.
  2. 40 mm above the HP and 25 mm in front of VP.
  3. In the VP and 40 mm above the HP.
  4. 25 mm below the HP and 25 mm behind the VP.
  5. 15 mm above the HP and 50 mm behind the VP.
  6. 40 mm below the HP and 25 mm in front of VP.
  7. In the both HP and VP.



Q.04  A point 'P' is 15 mm above the HP and 20 mm in front of VP and point 'Q' is 25 mm behind the VP and 40 mm below the HP .Draw the projections of P and Q , Keeping the distance between the projectors =90 mm draw straight line joining
  1. Their top views
  2. Their front views




Q.05  Two points A and B are in the HP the point A is 30 mm in front of VP, where as B is behind VP.
the distance between this projection = 75 mm and the line joining this top views an angle of 45 degree with 'XY' . Find the distance of point 'B' from VP.






Q.06  State the co- ordinate in which the following points are situated.
  1. A point 'P' its top views is 40 mm above 'XY' , in front view 20 mm below top view.
  2. A point'Q' its projections consider with each other 40 mm below 'XY'.




Q.07  Draw the projections of the following points on the same reference line, keeping the projectors 30 mm apart.
  1. A , 30 mm above HP and 30 mm in front of VP.
  2. B, 40 mm above Hp and 30 mm behind VP.
  3. C, 45 mm below HP and 30 mm behind VP.
  4. D,40 mm below HP and 30 mm in front of VP.
  5. E, 40 mm above HP and in VP.
  6. F, 45 mm below HP and in VP.
  7. G, 40 mm in front of VP and in HP.
  8. H, 45 mm behind VP and in HP.
  9. I, on both HP and VP.
